Nebraska Lymphoma Study Group
You have the opportunity to contribute to the progress of oncology and pathology worldwide. Heartland Hematology and Oncology participates in the Nebraska Lymphoma Study Group in order to be a part of the cutting edge of hematology and oncology research, as well as further the knowledge in the field. The Nebraska Lymphoma Study Group is a collaboration of oncologists and pathologists throughout Nebraska and Midwestern states, who share information for care and research.
The centralized database maintains clinical and pathologic information for statistical analysis. The data has formed the foundation for scientific contributions made to the medical community worldwide. UNMC hematopathologists review diagnostic tissues for histology, immunology, molecular biology, and cytogenic studies. This information is then shared with the patient’s primary physician.
More than 5,000 patients have been followed on initial treatment protocols and more than 50,000 biopsies reviewed since the study group was formed in 1982.
One of our nurses will discuss with you about participating in the study. All you will have to do is sign a consent form if you choose to be in the study. If you choose to participate, the nurse will send all of your oncology information to the study for you.
